New Emergency Plan State Managers appointed
Thursday, 23 February 2012
Integral to the launch of Emergency Plan has been the appointment of the State Managers for the Eastern Seaboard States of New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, as well as representation in Western Australia.
New Emergency Plan Manager for NSW
Emergency Plan is pleased to welcome Malcolm
Leithhead who has been appointed Emergency Plan Manager in our
Sydney office. Malcolm brings to Emergency Plan a wealth of
experience that includes the auditing of active and passive fire
safety installations, as well as emergency planning, evacuation
diagram development and Emergency Planning Committee training.
Malcolm has three decades of experience with building emergency and safety equipment, including careers with fire protection supply, installation, maintenance and training companies. With these companies, Malcolm has worked extensively with a wide range of fire protection solutions, including active fire protection systems such as fire extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants, fire detection systems, sprinkler systems, special hazard systems and pre-engineered fire suppression systems.
Through this experience, Malcolm has developed a broad knowledge of these products and the service regimes defined by Australian Standards, including the recently revised AS3745 - 2010 Planning for emergencies in facilities. In addition, Malcolm has managed and developed a range of passive fire products, including mastics, collars, boards, mortars and multi-component systems. Malcolm has also served on industry technical committees and Standards Australia technical committees for fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and hydrants.
Recently, Malcolm has gained additional site specific experience with the human component of building safety by working with emergency response procedures and the training of emergency control organisations for buildings to AS 3745. This has provided an insight into the ways procedures and training for people in an emergency needs to supplement the safety provisions of a building.
New Emergency Plan Manager for Queensland
Emergency
Plan is pleased to welcome Andrew Powell who has been appointed
Emergency Plan Manager in our Brisbane office. Andrew brings to
Emergency Plan a wealth of experience that includes working for the
Queensland Fire and Rescue Service and the Aviation Rescue and Fire

Fire Officer. As the Fire Safety Officer for Brisbane International
Airport he represented the ARFF in the building approvals process
by assisting the Airport Building Controller in the review of
drawings and fire engineering reports with regards to Building
Special Fire Services and their compliance with BCA, Australian
Standards and State Fire Safety Legislation and Regulations.
The recent revision of AS3745 - 2010 Emergency planning for facilities has given Andrew the opportunity to gain additional site specific experience, through working with emergency response procedures and the training of emergency control organisations for buildings to AS 3745.
New Emergency Plan Manager for Victoria
Emergency Plan is pleased to welcome

The recent revision of AS3745 - 2010 Emergency planning for facilities has provided Graeme with the opportunity to implement his considerable site specific experience, through working with emergency response procedures and the training of emergency control organisations for buildings to AS 3745.
